Human Life: A Paradox of Joy and Struggle
Human life is like eating an ice cream after sitting on a frying pan. This metaphor captures the essence of our existence: we experience pleasure and pain, gains and losses, often simultaneously.
From the moment we start our journey, we encounter a series of ups and downs. When we complete our studies but can’t find a job, the stress and worry set in. Later, when we do secure a job, new concerns arise—holidays, promotions, increments, and positions become our new focus.
I once met a man who came to a consultancy, crying because he was 35 and not yet married. He felt lonely and despondent. Shortly after, another person arrived, also in tears, but for a different reason. He was 33, married, and overwhelmed by the problems in his relationship. Despite their different circumstances, both shared a common feeling of distress.
This illustrates a fundamental truth about life: it is full of contradictions and challenges. The ability to balance these experiences is the real skill. Finding equilibrium amidst the chaos and learning to navigate the constant flux is what ultimately leads to a fulfilling life.
