Description
A 21-Day Residential Journey into the Timeless Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gītā
6–26 December 2026 | Rushikulam, Karnataka
The Śrīmad Bhagavad Gītā Yajña is not simply a course on the Bhagavad Gītā—it is an invitation to live its wisdom. Set in the serene traditional environment of Rushikulam, this unique 21-day residential immersion blends the ancient Gurukula way of learning with practical guidance for modern life.
Each day unfolds through traditional Gītā chanting, Yoga, Prāṇāyāma, Vedic rituals, meditation, philosophical discussions, and interactive sessions, allowing participants to experience the teachings rather than merely study them. Every chapter of the Bhagavad Gītā is explored not only in its original context but also through its relevance to contemporary challenges such as emotional well-being, relationships, leadership, decision-making, stress management, purpose, devotion, and self-transformation.
The retreat is personally guided by Dr. Vigneshwar Bhat, renowned philosopher, Vedic scholar, author, and teacher, who brings together the depth of traditional Sanskrit commentaries with practical insights for everyday life. Morning Yoga, Prāṇāyāma, and foundational yogic practices are led by Govinda Kai, preparing participants physically and mentally for deeper study and spiritual practice.
Beyond the classroom, participants become part of the Rushikulam family, experiencing an authentic Vedic lifestyle through Sandhyāvandana, Agnihotra, Pūjā, mantra chanting, seva, traditional sattvic food, community living, and disciplined daily routines. This immersive environment transforms learning into living, enabling the timeless teachings of the Gītā to become a natural part of one’s daily life.
A special highlight of the retreat is the “Wall of Wisdom”, an inspiring evening series that introduces participants to the vast landscape of India’s knowledge tradition—including the Vedas, Upaniṣads, Vedāṅgas, Yoga, Tantra, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, Darśanas, Purāṇas, Itihāsas, Temple traditions, and Bharatiya philosophy—revealing how the Bhagavad Gītā stands at the heart of Sanātana Dharma.
Throughout the 21-day journey, participants progress chapter by chapter through the Bhagavad Gītā, exploring themes such as self-discovery, emotional resilience, Karma Yoga, meditation, devotion, leadership, ethics, personality development, conscious living, spiritual growth, and ultimately the path to inner freedom (Mokṣa). The retreat culminates with Gītā Jayantī celebrations, complete Gītā recitation, Ashtakshara Homa, Pūrṇāhuti, participant reflections, and certification.
Whether you are a yoga practitioner, spiritual seeker, educator, professional, student, or simply someone searching for greater clarity and purpose, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the world’s greatest spiritual classics while living its teachings in an authentic traditional setting.
Don’t just read the Bhagavad Gītā. Chant it. Understand it. Live it. Transform through it.
